Anise Russow:Toronto based singer-songwriter Anise Russow holds a fascination with the deep-rooted habits and cycles that make us all human (and complex). She uses songwriting as a vehicle for emotional reflection, as a way to formulate and organize feelings that may sit in between common definitions. Drawing deep inspiration from artists such as Billie Marten, Laura Marling, and Madison Cunningham, Anise uses floating melodies and dynamic instrumentals to create a contemplative listening atmosphere. Her lyrics primarily derive from observations of her personal processes, as well as on the patterns and behaviours of those who surround her. Being a multi-genre vocalist, Anise’s music sits primarily in the indie-folk idiom, but contains hints of jazz and soul influence all the same.Joined by Andrew Chiapetta on guitar, Melissa Paju on bass, and Sean Maiato on drums.Instagram: @aniserussowaniserussow.comSerena Maddalena:Serena Maddalena is a Toronto-based singer-songwriter. A lover of ambient pop music, sorrowful string quartets, and many layered vocal harmonies, she hopes to, one day, reach as many people as she can with her own music.
