His groundbreaking recordings transformed the language of improvisation, while his fearless pursuit of musical and spiritual expression continues to inspire artists across genres. Join Winnipeg saxophonist Niall Cade and an exceptional ensemble featuring Will Bonness, Lindsay Woolgar and Kevin Waters, as they celebrate the enduring legacy of a true musical giant, exploring the artistry, innovation, and timeless power of one of the twentieth century’s greatest voices. - Niall Cade is a Métis/settler jazz saxophonist, composer, and educator based in Winnipeg, MB, Treaty 1 Territory. He holds a Bachelor of Jazz from the University of Manitoba (2013) and a Master of Music from the Manhattan School of Music (2017).Niall's extensive resume as a saxophonist includes performances with the Philip Harper Quintet, the Quincy Davis Quintet, the Big Jimmy Greene Band, and Bobby Sanabria's Afro-Cuban Orchestra. A versatile instrumentalist, Niall has also appeared with acts such as Mac DeMarco, Royal Canoe, Moses Mayes, Soul Supreme, and many others.As a recording artist, Niall is featured on albums by Apollo Suns, Steve Bell, Gerry & Ziz, 8 Bit & the Single Players, Eric St, Godard, and the Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra, including their Juno-winning 2025 release East Meets West: Connections. In 2019, Niall was a Semifinalist in the inaugural Michael Brecker International Jazz Saxophone Competition.As a composer, Niall has written several commissions for the Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra, adapting and arranging the music of Tomson Highway, Kelly Bado, the Beatles, and George Gerswhin for big band. He leads the jazz-fusion outfit Faux Pas Funk and co-leads the Galloway/Cade Big Band, a forum of local compos
