Micah’s rich baritone voice brings a new perspective to Leonard Cohen’s powerful lyrics, honouring the intricacy of the storytelling and the depth of musicality in these much-celebrated songs. Join Micah and his band of top-flight musicians, including guest vocalist Rique Franks, on a magical journey though Leonard’s world! Friday September 18. Opening set by Barbara Lynch is one of those special artists whose music not only happily spans categories, but also time and place. In her music you can hear echoes of jazz, folk, blues, barrel-house boogie and old-time religion hymns. It wouldn't be out of place in the New Orleans of the early 1990's. The south side of Chicago in the 1950's, 52nd street in its' heyday, or the West Coast of the 1970's. In other words, she is a genuine 21 st century artist. She would be an excellent addition to any music bill. 296 Broadview is not yet a fully wheelchair accessible venue, with stairs between all levels.
